    The Morning We Choose Again

    by Sarah Holland

    Some mornings arrive already tired,
    carrying yesterday’s unfinished sentences.
Still, the kettle finds its way to the stove,
still, the light finds the gap in the curtain.

We do not have to be brave about it.
We only have to choose it again —
    the small and stubborn act
    of beginning.

Five Small Habits That Changed How I Write

    by The Write Sauce

Writing well isn’t about waiting for inspiration — it’s about small, repeatable habits. Here are five that consistently make a difference, whether you’re working on a poem, a story or a first novel.

    • Write before you check your phone.
    • Keep a running list of lines and images, even out of context.
    • Read your work aloud before calling it finished.
    • Set a timer instead of a word count.
    • Finish messy drafts rather than polishing forever.
  • Write about a door you never opened

    WRITING PROMPT · POETRY

Write about a door you never opened.

Every life has a door that stayed closed — a path not taken, a conversation not had, a place never visited. Write a poem that begins at that door. What did you imagine was on the other side? What made you walk past it instead?

Take 15 minutes. Don’t overthink the form — free verse is fine. Let the door be as literal or as metaphorical as you like.
